Durante una reciente peregrinaci\u00f3n a Egipto, descubr\u00ed con asombro que el logotipo de la V\u00eda Egeria, la flor de seis p\u00e9talos, es un motivo bastante com\u00fan en la Iglesia copta, sobre todo en sus manuscritos antiguos. Pero qu\u00e9 sorpresa me llev\u00e9 al saber que este motivo tambi\u00e9n tiene un significado decididamente cristiano, \u00a1algo de lo que no hab\u00eda sido consciente hasta ahora!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Eleg\u00ed la flor de seis p\u00e9talos como logotipo porque es un motivo muy com\u00fan en la iconograf\u00eda del juda\u00edsmo de los primeros siglos a.C. y d.C., sobre todo en Israel. Se encuentra en los osarios jud\u00edos y en la piedra de la sinagoga de Magdala<\/strong><\/a><\/u>. Esta flor me permiti\u00f3 tender un puente entre el Antiguo y el Nuevo Testamento, no s\u00f3lo por su dataci\u00f3n (justo antes y justo despu\u00e9s del nacimiento de Jesucristo), sino tambi\u00e9n por su simbolismo. De hecho, los seis p\u00e9talos se completan con otra serie de seis, formando un c\u00edrculo alrededor de la flor y haciendo un total de doce. De este modo, el n\u00famero doce indica el movimiento de la tierra alrededor del sol en doce meses, as\u00ed como las doce tribus de Israel y los doce ap\u00f3stoles de Cristo. Hasta ah\u00ed.<\/p>\n

Pero, en Egipto, me enter\u00e9 de que el monograma de Cristo o cristograma, es decir, las dos letras combinadas de la palabra Christos, en griego, la X y la R, hab\u00edan evolucionado hasta el punto de ser representadas por la flor de seis p\u00e9talos, \u00a1exactamente la de V\u00eda Egeria!<\/p>\n

Por tanto, el s\u00edmbolo se ha convertido en cristiano. No es m\u00e1s que una de las posibles variantes del cristograma. Actualmente se encuentra en numerosas iluminarias que decoran manuscritos coptos, ya sean Biblias o misales. He aqu\u00ed algunos ejemplos:<\/p>\n

Pero quiz\u00e1 el uso m\u00e1s representativo del motivo del cristograma sea el que se muestra a continuaci\u00f3n. El cristograma est\u00e1 en el centro de la cruz, lo que confiere al motivo floral de seis p\u00e9talos un significado inequ\u00edvocamente cristoc\u00e9ntrico.<\/p>\n
